On August 29, 2024, the Chilean Regenerative Livestock Association (ACHIGANAR) held its first online workshop, managing to bring together more than 90 people from all regions of the country. This activity, organized with the support of Sercotec - Los Ríos, was developed as part of a series of free workshops aimed at the dissemination and adoption of regenerative practices in the Chilean livestock sector.

A transformative proposal
The online workshop, which lasted two and a half hours, focused on the fundamentals of regenerative livestock farming as an innovative and sustainable model to face the challenges of climate change and agri-food production.
Antonio Kusanovic, President of ACHIGANAR, kicked off the event with an introduction to the key principles of this practice. Subsequently, prominent figures from the public sphere, such as Santiago Rojas (National Director of INDAP), Daniela Acuña (Deputy Director of ODEPA) and Claudia Vicuña (Gender Manager of FIA), spoke about the political context, the challenges from the gender perspective and the opportunities that regenerative practices present for the national agricultural sector.
Practical experiences and connection networks
A highlight of the day was the presentation of practical experiences, led by Rafael Larraín, professor at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile and Cristóbal Gatica, manager of Agrícola Los Ulmos y Carnes Manada, a partner company of ACHIGANAR. These interventions offered attendees concrete tools to begin their transition towards more sustainable production models.
A space for reflection and projection
The workshop concluded with a question and comment session, where attendees expressed their enthusiasm for the content covered and the possibility of implementing this knowledge in their own communities and projects.
Digital platforms can be a powerful tool to connect, educate and transform agricultural producers throughout Chile. The complete video of the workshop is available on the ACHIGANAR YouTube channel, for those who wish to review it or share it on their networks.
